Dr Alex Hughes is Senior Lecturer in the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology at Newcastle University. Her research involves the study of economic geography and political economy, with interests in global commodity chains and networks, economic development in Kenya, and ethical trade and business responsibility, amongst other areas.
